Outdoor Wedding Ash Barton Estate | Kathryn & Joe
I’ve been spending this week looking back on all of the magical weddings I have photographed the last 9 years. So many that I haven’t even shared here yet and I want that to change, so today I am sharing Kathryn and Joe’s magical outdoor wedding Ash Barton Estate in Devon. Anywhere that has signs saying ‘honeybees at work’ is a winner in my book and Ash Barton estate is high up there. A beautiful home from home in the most magnificent setting where you can have your wedding in a barn, create a wedding that feels like a house party, get married outdoors or in a stunning chapel or even… and I don’t even know where to start with this idea… a WILDFLOWER wedding. They have the most beautiful meadow of wildflowers and you can get married right in the middle of it!
Kathryn and Joe had friends and family travel from all over to share their day in the Devon countryside. They said their vows in an outdoor ceremony in the walled garden on the lawn infant of the house. The clouds threatened rain and it gave a show of droplets but only momentarily. although they had a beautiful indoor option (the chapel) had it rained, I do love couples that persevere and it paid off for them as the rain stopped as soon as Kathryn emerged to walk down the aisle. Umbrellas were closed and the show went on, followed up with drinks in the gardens and an extremely fun party in the barn in the evening. Swansea based band, iPop played the party through and they were absolutely epic. I can’t recommend them enough for their incredible sound.
Magically we discovered the wildflower meadow for their photographs and I could have photographed the two of them all day there… but their guests awaited and so did food so we wandered back to the house and barn for the rest of their incredible day. I absolutely loved being a part of Kathryn and Joe’s glorious wedding and I had the very lovely Rebecca Rees join me on the day to second for me. I hope you love seeing their story through our eyes.
