I got word the night before Debbie and Wayne’s wedding that the boys were headed to Fistral Beach for a pre wedding surf.
I set my alarm and couldn’t quite believe it when I parked up at the beach that not only did it look this incredible at 7.30am in the morning, there were waves and it was warm! Wayne’s surf set the tone for the entire day. Party waves, friendship and sunshine.
I literally feel lost for words when I write this post. Two of the loveliest people I have the pleasure of calling friends were married in a ceremony made of laughter, love and beautiful readings. Witnessed by an amazing group of people, who celebrated with them afterwards in true Newquay style. Their day was one of music and laughter. Sunshine and happiness. On one of the most beautiful days of last year at one of our best beaches, Lusty Glaze. It was like the universe definitely decided that she was going to send her very best for Debbie and Wayne.
We danced with sparklers in hand on the beach, the sea sparkling in the sunset behind us. The lovely singer and songwriter Daisy Clark sang for us throughout the day whilst we all took off our shoes and played, relaxed and lounged on the sand in the sun. Drinks were plenty, ice-cream cooled everyone down and an incredible feast of food was devoured. A first dance at sunset and everyone on the dance floor after.
An utterly perfect day for two absolutely amazing people.
I sat to write this post and I was so filled with so much warmth. Our Newquay family is immense. This is how our lives are. We are those who live for the sunny days whilst loving every inch of our beautiful home on the rainy days too. Everywhere a familiar face, support, love and a chat. Often about the surf, the dogs or coffee.
Debbie and Wayne’s wedding looks like home. I am sure, to everyone else that was there and a part of their magical day, it feels the same
