The Scarlet Hotel Elopement | Victoria & Robert
I don’t think anyone was expecting the weather to play ball when Victoria & Robert decided that their Scarlet Hotel elopement should take place in Cornwall on a wintery mid December day. But it did and it felt just like Summer! The sea was perfect, the air was warm and the beautiful luxury eco hotel, located on the edge of cliffs at Mawgan Porth, was the perfect backdrop for their magical day.
Victoria and Robert have a love affair in Cornwall so getting married here was the perfect choice for them. They came down to stay a few days before their wedding, bringing their Mum’s as witnesses and they were married in a perfect ceremony looking out to sea.
The day started beautifully calm for them both, with Robert taking a beach walk with is Mum and Victoria getting ready with hers. Unknown to Victoria, Rob’s dad was making his way down the A30 as a surprise for her. A beautiful surprise that allowed him to also walk her down the aisle to his son… a moment that had us all in tears.
Victoria looked breathtaking in her beautiful beaded gown with florals from The Garden Gate Flower Company, dressed with Lancaster and Cornish ribbons that kept catching the sea breeze. Champagne followed their ceremony and we took a walk onto the beach for photos, wellies in hand. Both Victoria and Robert game to get out in the unseasonably warm December air and I am so glad they were up for the beach… such a gorgeous couple who laughed together the whole time I was with them. Afterwards I had to wrench myself away and I left them all to enjoy a delicious dinner in the private dining room watching the sun set on their beautiful day.
A magical moment for all and one I feel so honoured to have been able to witness. x
